#Taiwan’s digital minister Audrey Tang was featured on the cover of the most recent issue of Forbes JAPAN! She was interviewed on the 2014 #SunflowerStudentMovement’s impact on public participation in #DigitalGovernance, including the creation of the g0v.tw open-source platform, aimed at encouraging civic engagement, introducing more transparency into governance and finding creative digital solutions to social and economic issues, marking a shift from traditional top-down governance to a more participatory model. This model has been particularly useful in combating the #COVID19 pandemic. An example of this was the adoption of a suggestion by a member of the public that Central Epidemic Command Center officials wear pink masks at their daily press conference to stop gender stereotypes around mask color leading to the bullying of boys when children are unable to pick the color of the masks in their rations. The Presidential Hackathon has also led to creative solutions by members of the public being adopted as government policy, such as the introduction of #telemedicine on the offshore #OrchidIsland.
